Wormwood is one of the bitterest herbs known and provides the bitter flavor in vermouth. Its essential oil contains thujone as a major constituent; thujone is harmful in large amou nts. Wormwood is used in closet and drawer sachets, as a bitter aromatic and as an ingredient in liniments. Directions To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1/2 tsp. of herb. Cover and steep 5-10 minutes, strain and serve immediately. Safety Guideline: Not for use during pregnancy or lactation. Not for long-term use; do not exceed recommended dose.
