From The Historical Medial Library of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia Collection Feldtbůch der Wundtartzney, Hans von Gersdorff's fieldbook of surgery, was first publish ed in 1517 in Strasbourg. The work proved to be a popular surgical text and is especially well-known for its instructions on limb amputation. The illustrations, hand-colored in this copy, are attributed to Johann Ulrich Wechtlin and include the first printed image of an amputation. Show more
