Travelling cross-country to an important interview, Chris (Desmond Harrington) turns off the grid-locked freeway into the West Virginia backwoods hoping to bypass the logjam only t o crash his car into the back of an already-marooned vehicle. Surviving relatively unharmed, he and his fellow stranded – Jesse (Eliza Dushku), Carly (Emmanuelle Chriqui), Scott (Jeremy Sisto), Francine (Lindy Booth) and Evan (Kevin Zegers) – decide to hike back to the freeway to find help.
