WSD FENBENDAZOLE 100 is a broad spectrum treatment for roundworm and tapeworm parasites of cattle and horses Type of Preparation WSD FENBENDAZOLE 100 is a suspension for oral use as a drench containing 100g/L fenbendazole- a benzimidazole (BZ). Indications Cattle: Mature and immature stages of the following worms. Barber's pole worm (Haemonchus spp), hair worm or small hair worm (Trichostrongylus spp), small brown stomach worm (Ostertagia ostertagi including hypobiotic larvae), small intestinal worm (Cooperia), whipworm (Trichuris), lungworm (Dictyocaulus viviparus), Capillaria spp, hookworm (Bunostomum sp). Fenbendazole aids in the control of tapeworms (Moniezia spp). Dairy Cattle: Suitable for cattle producing milk for human consumption (see withholding period information) Horses: Mature and immature large strongyles (Strongylus spp), small strongyles (Cyanthostomidae), ascarids (Parascaris equorum), pinworms (Oxyuris equi), Strongyloides westeri. Dosage Always refer to the label. BZ’s generally have low toxicity but to avoid residue problems, it is good practice to separate into different weight classes if there is a large variation in age and weight. Cattle: Dose at the rate of 3.75ml per 50kg body weight. Horses: Dose at the rate of 1ml per 10kg body weight Advice On Use • WSD FENBENDAZOLE 100 is a reliable broad-spectrum oral drench for cattle and horses of all ages. • WSD FENBENDAZOLE 100 is safe for use in pregnant mares and stud males. • It is effective in treating severe scouring due to Ostertagia- type II ostertagiosis in adult cattle. • It is often best administered to adult cattle with a drenching hook. • The repeated use of any drench is likely to result in the emergence of resistance among cattle parasites. WSD provides a range of treatments for cattle parasites and consideration should be given to utilizing more than one treatment group in a worm control program.
