Celosia spicata Named for Socrates’ ill-tempered wife, Xantippe, known for her cold and shrewd demeanor, this celosia bears icy silver petals, an unusual metallic color not frequen tly seen in the garden. Its upright, 24-inch form produces erect flower heads in pink hues that fade to silver.
