He draws on archaic iconography – hea ds, masks, boats, human and animal forms – to give substance to the contradictions of the human soul. His work resonates with the heritage of pre-Columbian art, which he reinvents with power and poetry. Xavier Mascaró sublimates iron, an ancestral material to which he breathes new energy.
