TIPS ON BALANCE POINT Balance is the mid-point at which the weight is evenly distributed between the handle and the head. A paddle with a heavier weight towards the head provides more power and makes it easier to control volleys at the net. Controlling drives is more of a challenge. The closer the weight is to the handle a player will need to swing their arm faster to create the power, but it should be easier to control drives.
