Stitch Wildflower Memories, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — thistles, cornflowers and yellow wildflowers fill a meadow where mice, frogs and butterflies hide among th e stems. A little stitcher's folklore: a wildflower meadow can hold over a hundred plant species; since the 1930s Britain has lost almost all of its old hay meadows. Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs, it is a larger design on 16-count speckled Aida, and 5% of Bothy Threads' sales of this kit are donated to St Barnabas Hospice. Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida printed with an exclusive speckled background, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: full cross stitches, a few fractional stitches, back stitch and French knots. A frame is not included. Stitch the flowers and creatures in cross stitch from the centre, add fractionals where shown, then the stems in back stitch and the French knots. Finished size: 39×29 cm (15.4×11.4 in).
