New for 2018, the MotorGuide Xi3 55 Freshwater is an exciting response to the Minn Kota PowerDrive series. The Xi3 FW offers basic and advanced wireless features in an affordable package. Notably, it offers some key improvements to current wireless offerings in this price range. First and foremost, all motors feature wireless or GPS remote control right out of the box. Second, the Xi3 features the new SecureStep stow and deploy, which claims to be 50% easier to use than the PowerDrive. Third and finally, the Xi3 is the quietest electric steer motor in its class. These are really great motors, offered with a standard remote for speed and steering, or the more advanced Pinpoint GPS remotes that feature anchor locking and route-recording. Sonar is also an option with the Pinpoint GPS motors. The Xi3 is a welcome and competitive addition to entry-level electric-steer motors and gives Minn Kota a run for their money! How It's Unique The X3 series is a step-up in innovation from the Freshwater series. While both models are controlled with a cable foot pedal, the X3 offers improved steering control and sturdier shaft construction. (Learn about these features) Available Upgrades: PinPoint GPS Split Mounting Details: This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware, and requires drilling into the boat for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware.
