These Dodos are both limited edition exclusive variants commissioned by BladeHQ (M4) and Saint Nick's Knives (4V) but we were able to get a very limited supply of factory seconds directly from Spyderco. These will never be restocked, and most likely never recommissioned by the stores that initially ordered them. It's a shame, since the Dodo is one of Spyderco's most unique knives and surprisingly utilitarian for warehouse-oriented duty. I personally EDC a serrated M4 Dodo (also recently released) for my warehouse work and it has faithfully opened and taken down hundreds of boxes of all sizes without needing sharpening. It also features the retro original ball bearing lock design, which is special for being one of the few lock designs that actually gets stronger (instead of degrading) with wear over time. Like many other ball bearing lock-based knives (even "normal" ones), these Dodos have a higher chance to feature lockstick, though none are unusably bad. However, it looks like most of these were "seconded" due to the coating imperfections as shown. Some of the Spyderco ID stickers left a "shadow" on several of these as well.
