After focusing on architectural photography from 2010, he turned to street photography in 2023. His book Beyond the West: New Buildings in the East of the Netherlands was published in 2019. “In my street photography, I try to capture the energy of urban life through light, color, shape, shadow, and reflection. I use silhouettes and obscured forms to create layered, poetic scenes that feel universal—inviting viewers to interpret them in their own way. Most of my work is shot in Amsterdam, where I walk the streets looking for reflective surfaces and fleeting moments, often returning to the same locations to see what new images might emerge.” Story Behind the Image: This picture was taken on De Oude Spiegelstraat in Amsterdam’s city center—a small street with many shops.
