Yalda Aghafazli, 19, was arrested on October 26 in Enghelab Square in the capital city Tehran and was released 10 days later, without being informed of the charges against her. Aghafazli had been on hunger strike prior to her release from the Qarchak detention center on November 6. The 19 year-old protester said she was tortured in detention. She was found dead in her bed 5 days after her release. The activist group, the Center for Human Rights in Iran, says 451 protesters and 60 members of the security forces have been killed since the start of the unrest and that more than 18,000 people have been detained. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these earrings will be donated to the Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI), which has been amplifying the voices of the Iranian people since 2008.
