Did you know? Paddock gearboxes were chosen by numerous multipoint lock manufacturers, including Yale. Since the Paddock company was dissolved, Yale has been manufacturing and marketing their gearboxes under the Yale Lockmaster brand. How to choose the right gearbox You should choose a centre case that works with your handle spindle type, and with a matching backset size. Backset size is the measurement from the centre of the spindle/euro cylinder hole to the front of the edge of the door faceplate that the centre case sits behind. Spindle type refers to the spindle[s] of the handles that will engage with the centre case. Spindle options include, single, and dual for offset handles. Not suitable as a replacement for the Lockmaster 21 centre case gearbox.
