96 Points – James Halliday Wine Companion. This Old Vine Grenache from Yangarra is a refined expression of McLaren Vale heritage—elegant, aromatic and deeply engaging. From the first swirl, aromas of wild raspberry, rose petal, red cherry and spice emerge. The palate delights with cranberry, pomegranate, dried herbs and a fine minerality, layered with supple tannins that lead into a persistent, savoury finish. Made from bush vines planted in 1946 on sandy soils known as “The Beach,” the wine is fermented with ~50% whole berries, and matured in old oak puncheons, foudre, ceramic eggs and amphora. Certified organic and biodynamic, it embodies balance and complexity.
