It is a lively, manageable mbuna for keepers who want color and movement without choosing one of the largest or roughest mbuna species. Origin and Habitat Native Region: Lake Malawi; Mbamba-area form in the aquarium trade. Natural Habitat: Rocky shoreline and intermediate habitat where mbuna graze and hold territories. Physical Characteristics Size: 5-6 inches. Coloration: Males show stronger blue/dark body contrast with yellow fin highlights; females and juveniles are more muted. Body Shape: Compact Labidochromis-style mbuna body. Behavior and Temperament Temperament: Mildly aggressive.
