Yellow Long Neck figs are most noted for their impressive size. The figs usually weigh in at 90+ grams and can reach as high as 125 grams. That is a lot of fig! Another benefit of Yellow Long Neck is its early ripening, which occurs in early August. This makes the variety suited for cooler climates where the growing season is shorter. So why hasn’t there been more talk about Yellow Long Neck amongst fig enthusiasts? Some speculate that the unremarkable sounding name and lack of information has kept this variety a hidden gem. Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span.
