Rushi Studio is known for formulating its own monochrome colored glazes, using m ore than ten kinds of natural ore, copper and cobalt, combined in different compositions.Each gaiwan and tea cup is hand thrown on the potter’s wheel. The glazes are applied by hand to the ceramic body both on the interior and exterior, and fired in the kiln at high temperatures exceeding 1300°C.The high temperature firing creates beautiful vivid colors with a piercing clarity, resembling natural gemstones.
