A really pretty decorative vintage oil on panel. This floral still life is softly painted and depicts pale yellow roses against a washed blue-green ground. What makes this piece so easy to live with is its lightness. The flowers are loosely handled, with soft creamy petals, deep green leaves and a delicate glass vase that almost dissolves into the background. The muted palette gives it a calm, timeworn feel, while the warm frame adds just enough structure. A gentle, understated piece for a bedroom, hallway or quieter corner of a sitting room. Oil on panel by unidentified artist (Swedish origin), signed lower right. Dimensions 46x53cm framed. Note the two areas of paint loss as shown in the photos. It took me a long time to notice them as they blend so well into the painting. I have reduced the price though to reflect this however the painting presents beautifully overall.
