Ylva is a beautifully rustic yarn made from 100% German wool—ethically sourced and naturally dyed with care. Formerly known as Schafswolle No. 03, Ylva carries the same trusted quality under a fresh new name. Wool for Ylva is collected from small farms in Northern and Eastern Germany, then spun and plant-dyed in Hessia with sustainability at the forefront. The dyehouse rigorously tests each batch for colorfastness, ensuring the yarn’s beauty lasts for years to come. By choosing Ylva, you’re directly supporting small-scale German shepherds and fair trade practices. This 100% wool yarn has a rustic hand that softens and blooms beautifully after washing, making it a great choice for long-wearing garments, textured stitch patterns, brioche, and colorwork. Note: Colors 1204 (Madder Red) and 1101 (Reseda Yellow) are richly saturated and may bleed. We recommend pre-washing these shades in a delicates bag on a cold, gentle cycle using a wool-safe detergent. Indigo shades 1403 and 1406 may rub off during knitting but won’t continue to bleed after blocking. Soap and water easily remove any residue. As with all plant-dyed yarns, avoid prolonged direct sunlight exposure to prevent fading.
