This 4.44 inch, 4.36 pound sphere is hand-carved and polished to highlight the stone's natural character. In daylight it appears an understated gray — but under a 365nm UV light, i t transforms, fluorescing a vivid yellow-orange-red that has to be seen to be believed. Yooperlite is the trade name for syenite rock containing fluorescent sodalite — a term widely used across the market, though technically it applies to specimens from Michigan's Great Lakes region.
