Za’atar Za’atar is a bright, earthy Middle Eastern blend made with Sesame Seeds, Sumac, and Thyme. The Sumac adds a tangy citrus flavor, the Thyme brings an herbal punch, and the Sesame Seeds add a warm, nutty finish. Sprinkle it over chicken, fish, vegetables, eggs, hummus, or salads. You can also mix it with Olive Oil to make a flavorful dipping sauce or a savory spread for pita and other flatbreads. Ingredients: Sesame Seeds, Sumac, Thyme. Za’atar Pita Bread Mix 2 tablespoons Za’atar with 2 tablespoons Olive Oil. Brush over pita or flatbread and bake at 400°F for 5–8 minutes, until warm and lightly crisp. Za’atar Roasted Chicken Rub 1½ pounds of chicken with 1 tablespoon Olive Oil and 1–2 tablespoons Za’atar. Add Salt if desired, then bake at 425°F for 25–35 minutes, depending on the cut.
