I’m always on the lookout for a good way to use up leftover yarn. Pompoms, fringes and tassels are great, but thrumming is not just a pretty effect, it’s a way to add warmth to you r scarf whilst also making use of smaller pieces. This free pattern contains instructions for heavy laceweight (2ply), fingering (4ply) and DK weight yarn. Techniques used: knitting in the round and thrumming. Technical level: beginner.
