This soft binder is handmade in Los Angeles using our compression knit with antimicrobial and moisture management treatments. It was very carefully designed to have strong seams, clean finishes, and no rough areas or tags to scratch or irritate the skin. The two layers of fabric in the front work to compress and softly flatten the chest without making it hard to breathe. The nylon coil zipper in the front makes dressing and undressing much easier! VERS VERSION: Short for "versatile," our Vers version will be great for all sorts of activities! Vers has slightly lower elasticity than the Original, so it offers good compression/flatness while also weighing less. It however is not very plush, so it isn't quite as soft, but weighing less does give it plenty of advantages! The lighter weight makes it more breathable and faster drying, so it should be fantastic for swim, exercise, and sweaty days while offering a flatter bind than our Active Top or other Lightweight compression tops. The Vers fabric also has a moisture-wicking finish and built-in UV50+ protection from the sun! The Vers version has gotten updated sizing and should closely match our size chart. ORIGINAL VERSION vs NEW: We are no longer working with our original fabric mill, so our Original inventory will start to sell out. All old reviews for this product are for the Original compression level and fit. The Original and New fabrics both have antimicrobial properties and a moisture-wicking finish. Both are a nice mid-weight, with the Original being around 285gsm and the New being around 300gsm. Our Original inventory may run small compared to the size chart / other versions. Size charts can't be accurate for all body types, so there will always be some people who need a smaller or larger size than expected, but the Original inventory gets more requests to exchange for a size up than down, especially in the plus sizes. The New fabric is very similar to the Original, but being a little heavier and a bit more rigid makes it slightly more flattening. All the New inventory has also gotten updated fit/sizing (like the Vers inventory) to better match the size chart. The New version is thicker and softer to the touch than the Vers version, so while they offer about the same level of flatness, the New version may be more sensory friendly but not as breathable for swim and exercise. LIGHTWEIGHT AND FLEX VERSION: The Flex fabric is the same weight as our original compression material, so it is still soft/plush, but is stretchier and less rigid than the original version. The lightweight fabric is also more stretchy as well as a bit lighter-weight than our original fabric, more like the swim fabric we use for the Active Top and Tucking Bikini. Since this does affect the fit and feel of the binder, we have decided to label items made with these fabrics as "Flex" and "Lightweight" to show a distinction between them and our original soft binders. These may feel looser, especially in larger sizes, due to the stretch. Compression tops with more stretch are better for excercise. The lightweight version is also going to dry faster, making it better for cardio and swim - though we don't recommend swimming in the white color. Additional size info has been added to each color based on the compression level of the fabric The zipper is 10" long, making the approximate length of the binder 13" from high point shoulder. This is long enough for most people, and ideal for many - being short enough that it won't roll up - however we also offer a 3/4 length version with dressing hooks! FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD TOP SURGERY:Those who have only gotten a reduction may use both measurements in the size chart for consideration, like normal. But if you are now relatively flat, please base sizing on the chest measurement above the bust (not around or below the bust) and get 1 size down from what the chart recommends based on that 1st measurement. If choosing a "lightweight" version, which is great for this, please go another size down. FOR THOSE BETWEEN SIZES:If you have broad shoulders/chest (so most of that measurement is ribcage, not breast tissue), or get claustrophobic/anxiety or back pain from binding, I'd recommend the larger size. If you have a small frame and larger cup size or very soft tissue, the smaller size will likely work much better!
