That is a dust screen for a short job in one opening. It is not an enclosure: there is nothing holding the middle of a long sheet, and nothing to build an airlock with. If you are containing a room, a section of an open-plan area, or anything under negative pressure, start with the 4 pole pack or a complete kit. A barrier is only as good as its edgesContainment under negative pressure fails at the gaps, not in the middle of the sheet. Air takes the easiest path, and a 20 mm gap along a ceiling line will carry more air than the rest of the barrier combined — which means dust, spores or odour going exactly where you promised they would not.Seal the top, seal the sides, and check the barrier is drawing inward once the air scrubber is running. A barrier that bows toward you is not sealed. Setting Up a Pole Barrier Check the floor and ceiling where each pole will stand — sound plaster or a structural ceiling, not a loose tile or light fitting. On vinyl, polished stone or sealed timber, fit GripDisks to the feet. Lay the sheet out and place the first head plate at the top corner, with the plastic sandwiched between the head and the non-skid plate. Raise the pole, extend it to the ceiling and compress the spring so the pole holds under load. Repeat along the barrier line. Seal the ceiling line with Tight-Seal rails and the wall edges with Side-Seal clamps where the job needs a proper seal rather than a dust screen. Fit a zipper for access before the sheet gets dusty, then open it with the zipper cutter. Once the air scrubber is running, check the sheet draws inward along its whole length. The standard ZipWall pole adjusts from 1.4 m to 3.8 m. For higher ceilings ZipWall make a Super-Tall pole, which CCW does not list online — ask us. Will the poles mark the ceiling? The top of each pole carries a pH-neutral rubber non-skid plate, which is designed not to mark painted or plastered ceilings. Check the plate is intact before each job — a worn or missing plate can mark. Replacements: non-skid plate and keyhole snap head. Can I add more poles later? Yes. Kits and pole packs use the same poles and accessories, so the 2 pack can be topped up with another pack when jobs get larger. Do I need tape? Not to hang the sheet — the head plates grip it. To seal the top and sides against air movement without tape, add Tight-Seal rails and Side-Seal clamps. Is this enough for mould or asbestos work? Not on its own. Regulated work needs an enclosure built to the scope or regulator requirements, usually with sealed edges and an airlock. A 2-pole pack is a dust screen. Building a containment kit?
