DESCRIPTION This peacoat has no labels indicating the manufacturer, but it is most likely made in Sweden during the early 1940s or possibly the late 1930s. It is crafted from a heavy dark blue wool fabric, which is classic for this type of jacket. The jacket is double-breasted with four straight rows of buttons and features pointed lapels, both with buttonholes. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps. The back is straight and lacks a vent. This type of jacket was traditionally worn by sailors, and if needed, you can fasten the top button at the neck to better protect yourself from biting sea winds! On the inside, the jacket is fully lined with a heavy wool fabric. It has an inner pocket on the left side, where the only label is found. Unfortunately, the label provides no further information about the jacket. At the neck, there is a strong leather loop designed to support the weight of the jacket. The condition is overall very good, with only one thing to note: there is a patch repair on the lining at the left shoulder. This is of course not visible when the jacket is worn. Otherwise, it looks almost new, and it’s likely that it has not been used much, as there is no noticeable wear on the buttonholes.
