Sanitary facilities are essential and should be usable by all. These are key elements to providing suitable facilities, the diversity of users, protected characteristics, the funcion of the premises, locations and type of facilities. Futhermore, the devil is in the detail. Who needs which facilites and where? This module will outline regulation and best practice for facilities including Changing Policy. Jane Simpson, Jane Simpson Access Ltd Jane is Director of Jane Simpson Access Ltd and a RIBA Chartered Architect and consultant member of the National Register of Access Consultants (NRAC). Throughout her career Jane has developed a broad range of expertise, working for local authorities, private practice and planning department, with over two decades of experience in inclusion; providing advice on a broad range of issues, often clarifying complex aspects of the Equality Act 2010, the Special Education Needs and Disability Act 2001 and other statutory and legislative information. She sits on the Civic Trust Selwyn Goldsmith Awards Panel, is the RIBA’s Specialist Practice Advisor on inclusion, representing them on Design Council, Regulations & Standards, CPD, Architects for Change, UIA Architecture for All Western Europe and BSI committees, including involvement in the recent BS8300 revision.
