We also pay particular attention to the clay we use, using our own clay for wheel-throwing and tatara-style molding. We mold the clay from red clay, apply white decorative mud, and then glaze and fire it. To ensure comfortable use and microwave-safety, no chemicals or liquid ceramic coatings are applied after firing. Instead, we repeat a double firing process called "honyaki" to make our tableware even more durable and of a quality that can be used safely in everyday life.
