The Full Story Gallet is known for its historic chronograph production. Among the most famous models to appear in the brand's catalog were the Clamshell chronograph, which is considered to be the first waterproof chronograph wristwatch, and the Flying (or Flight) Officer. Gallet's chronographs were often designed with specialized functionality in mind, including decimal scales for industrial purposes, pulsation scales for doctors, yachting registers for boat racing, tachymeter scales for tracking speed during automotive racing, and telemeter scales for tracking distance via sound. The present watch has a multi-scale dial, with a tachymeter scale located on the periphery of the dial and a light blue telemeter track indicated in miles toward its central portion. It has a pair of attractive engine-turned sub-dials that line up on the same axis as the central pinion. The striking black handset is filled with tritium for maximum legibility at all times. The Gallet text on the dial has also remained crisp with age. This watch has developed a nice patina over the years, and it has exactly the right amount of vintage charm that we love. The case is unpolished with some scratches. The side of the case at nine o'clock shows signs of being opened and the caseback has a small indentation. The bottom edge of the 11 o'clock lug has some nicks. The dial is in good condition and has developed patina around the edge. The lume on the hands and dial have developed patina. The crown is unsigned, which is correct for this watch. The case, dial, and movement are all signed by the maker.
