Produced over a span of 20 years, the 5513 is an iconic tool watch with no date and a tough 40 mm stainless-steel Oyster case with crown guards. Often collectors will search for the most pristine example, but here at HODINKEE we like a little grit sometimes. This watch is what we like to call “loved,” as it was worn by its owner (not too much though) and shows sign of wear in the past. The case has some small scuffs, and the dial has a fantastic patina and has not been touched. The indexes and hands match; there is some variation in the color, but that is what makes this example so cool. As aforementioned, this watch was previously loved by its owner. You can expect to find some light scratches and scuffs on the case and the crown has been replaced with a triple-lock Rolex crown, but that is to be expected with a watch of this age and use. The patina on the hands and dial are incredible, and this is a perfect example of how a watch should age gracefully.
