The sternwheeler "Yukon" on the Yukon river heading north in front of Dawson City. The high bluffs behind Dawson City can be seen in the background. The boat flies the American, Ca nadian and "B.Y.N.Co." (British Yukon Navigation Company) flags. The Yukon was built in Whitehorse in 1913 by the American Yukon Navigation Co., a sister ship of the Alaska. It operated between Dawson and Nenana. It was rebuilt in 1936 and sold to the Alaska Railroad in 1942. Show more
