2-Isobutyl Quinoline (not to be confused with Pyralone AKA Isobutyl Quinoline) is a soft but very persistent weedy and leathery chemical. It is the key to the dry down of Aventus ( formula below) and works very well in combination with the classic and closely related Pyralone (CAS 65442-31-1) and Isopropyl Quinoline (CAS 135-79-5). Use traces to support moss, roots, patchouli or leather notes, or use a larger amount for a novel character. 2-Isobutyl Quinoline is extremely powerful and very popular in classic chypre and fougère type fragrances.
