After cell lysis, the crude protein extract contains a large amount of endogenous proteases, which can degrade proteins in the cell extract. Therefore, to prevent the target protein from being degraded by proteases during protein purification, protease inhibitors need to be added to inhibit their activity. This product is a mixture of several common protease inhibitors, including AEBSF, Aprotinin, Bestatin, E-64, Leupeptin, and Pepstatin A. It broadly inhibits various proteases from animal, plant, bacterial, and yeast tissues or cells, such as serine proteases, cysteine proteases, aminopeptidases, and acid proteases. Additionally, this product does not contain EDTA (a metalloprotease inhibitor), making it particularly suitable for proteins with metal ion-dependent active centers. It is compatible with subsequent experiments such as immobilized metal-chelate affinity chromatography (IMAC), 2D gel electrophoresis, and native gel electrophoresis.
