DESCRIPTION This beautiful raglan-sleeved tweed overcoat bears no labels, but we can confidently say it is of Swedish origin and was tailored sometime during the 1930s or 1940s. It is made from a heavy herringbone-patterned tweed. The pattern is clearly visible—even from a distance—and upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that in addition to brown and white tones, the fabric also includes subtle orange threads. A very attractive fabric that, we would argue, is quite typical of the era. The coat is single-breasted with a concealed button placket and fastens with four buttons. It features vertical front pockets and a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight with a center vent. Inside, it is fully lined and includes two interior pockets—one on each side. The overall condition is excellent, though there are a few minor details to note. There is some discoloration on the inside, but this is not visible when the coat is worn. Some light wear is also visible on the buttonholes, but since the coat features a concealed front, this has minimal impact on the overall impression.
