Colin Blatchford-Brown, Blatchford Brown Limited A Chartered Building Control Surveyor and Chartered Building Engineer and has worked in the building control profession for over thirty years. Until recently, Colin was Operational Policy Lead for the gateways and building control at the HSE, helping to set up the Building Safety Regulator and working with government on the secondary legislation to support the introduction of the Building Safety Act. Colin delivers regular CPD sessions on the BSA and building regulations. Course ConsultantsDieter Bentley-Gockmann, EPR Architects A Chartered Architect who graduated from the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University in 1995, completed a Master’s degree in Construction Law and Arbitration at King’s College, London in 2005 and since 2006 has been Director, Legal and Technical Services at EPR Architects Limited. In his role as Director of EPR Architects, Dieter oversees the practice’s organisational capability to deliver projects, including higher-risk buildings, in accordance with the CDM Regulations 2015 and the relevant requirements of the Building Regulations 2010, as amended by the Building Safety Act 2022. This includes advising the practice’s designers about all aspects of regulatory and professional compliance and individual competence. In particular, he ensures that designers, including those acting in the capacity of principal designer, are aware of, understand, and have the appropriate skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours to discharge their duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and Part 2A of the Building Regulations introduced by The Building Regulations etc. (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2023.
