How it works For each tier, bake a cake to match its kit: a 4″ (10cm) cake for the 4″ kit, a 6″ (15cm) for the 6″, and an 8″ (20cm) for the 8″. Trim each sponge with its crumb cutter to shave off the crust and size it down slightly, which leaves a little room for your ganache or buttercream. Frost inside the form, so every tier comes out smooth, even and a true size. Chill, lift the forms away, and stack.
