MARGAREE RIVER, Cape Breton, is a stunning hand-tinted, black & white photograph by Raymond Martheleur. Wide valley-view is almost overwhelming, but yet very soothing, just looking out at this pastoral view of the river banks on the famous Margaree River, in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Wonderful deep hand-colouring of blues and greens highlighting the river and hills. Single matte embossed, in an antique off-white frame with gold border. Excellent condition with the original backing dust cover slightly torn. Titled and signed in pencil by the artist and photographer, Mr. Raymond Martheleur. ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER: Raymond Martheleur (October 28, 1925-August 31, 2016). Born in Sydney, NS, Ray was a highly a recognized and published Cape Breton landscape photographer, investing over 50 years in producing scenes from all over his beloved Island. Ray hand-colored his original Cape Breton Scenes (with photo oils) and produced thousands of these framed photographs, many of which still hang proudly in homes and businesses throughout Canada and, indeed, the world.
