Sliding Door Center Hinge Bearing – 211-843-359B The 211-843-359B is the "secret" to a sliding door that opens with one finger. Most owners struggle with heavy, clunky doors becaus e this specific bearing has disintegrated or developed a flat spot from sitting in one position for too long. By replacing the roller bearing, you eliminate the friction that causes the door to bind as it rounds the corner of the track. This bearing is part of the center hinge assembly. It is often exposed to the elements, so replacing a rusted original with a fresh, lubricated unit is a standard part of any exterior restoration or maintenance routine. Detailed Vehicle Compatibility VW Bus (Type 2 / Transporter): 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 Product Highlights & Features Durable Construction: Built to withstand constant use and the heavy "thud" associated with closing a Bay Window sliding door. Direct Replacement: Sized exactly to fit the pivot pin on the factory center hinge. Maintenance Essential: A low-cost part that prevents expensive damage to the center door track and hinge arm. Technical Specifications Part Number: 211-843-359B Application: Center Sliding Door Hinge Type: Roller Bearing Compatibility: All Bay Window models Installation & Maintenance Tips Clean the Track: Before installing the new bearing, use a rag and solvent to clean all the old, sandy grease out of the Center Door Track. If you leave grit in the track, it will chew up your new bearing in weeks. Lubrication Type: Use a high-quality white lithium grease or a "dry" PTFE lubricant inside the track. Avoid heavy chassis grease that attracts road dirt and turns into a grinding paste. Hinge Inspection: While the door is supported, check the Upper and Lower Rollers as well. Usually, if the center bearing is shot, the other rollers are also nearing the end of their lifespan. 211843359B Show more
