From a NY designer, this is a wonderful Italian yarn-dyed, mostly wool doubleknit with a black and ivory "dashy" design on the face that resembles a basketweave, and a tweedy look on the reverse that can be used as contrast. This wonderful fabric is medium weight and opaque, soft and warm with lovely drape. It has about 20% stretch in the width and 15% in the length.
