This Essential Set Includes: Wheel Marking Gauge (100-110) With this tool you'll be able to quickly scribe layout lines, measure depth and also lay down mortise and tenon locations on your stock. It is a nicely weighted instrument and feels good in your hand as you are working. When scribing a layout line the hardened steel wheel at the end of the machined rod pulls the large round brass shoe against your stock and makes your scribes more accurate and repeatable. For Mortises you install the two 5/8" diameter wheel cutters with their bevels facing away from each other. Use the imperial or metric graduated steel rod to accurately place the cutter wheels in the exact location desired (min. of 3/8" apart) and lock them in place with the supplied set screws. Your chisel can also be used to set the width of the wheel cutters. Their opposing bevels allow you to scribe on the waste side of your cut, insuring perfect chisel registration. Marking Knife (100-133) Marking knives are great for layout work in your shop because they're many times more accurate than thicker pencil lines. But the advantage of scribing doesn't end there; a scribed line pre-scores your wood, making final cuts with your hand or power tools more crisp and clean by eliminating unsightly tearout. This marking knife has a comfortable 5" long hardwood handle for all-day use. It features a precision ground tool steel edge with a 55° included angle that slices wood fibers cleanly and tracks straight and true. Made for either left or right-hand use. 4” Sliding Double Square (100-004) Double squares offer applications similar to combination squares. Versatile setup tools, great for layout or checking 90° angles. Unlike a combination square, the action can be done from either side of the head without the need to flip the square over. Both the 4" and 6" double squares have machined heads that are surface ground on all sides to provide a sturdy platform for the tool to stand erect.
