Candelilla wax is the purified wax obtained from the leaves of the candelilla plant Euphorbia antisyphilitica. Candelilla wax is usually odorless, when heated it smells aromatic. I t is harder than beeswax, but softer than carnauba wax. Candelilla wax can be used as a substitute for carnauba wax in the production of shoe polishes, floor polishes, candles, as an additive to soap emulsions, etc. insoluble in water soluble in chloroform and toluene, melting range: 68.5 - 72.5°C - sale only within EC - Store in closed containers, protected from light and at temperatures not exceeding 40°C.
