This fabulous 3-ply matelasse' knit from a NY designer has a quilted grid pattern with a 1/2" repeat. It is textured, supple and soft, and the color is a dark charcoal, with black and cream on the reverse (PANTONE 19-3908-ish). The quilted texture appears on both sides, but the back is a flatter weave. It is medium weight and opaque with a body in the drape and about 30% widthwise stretch.
