This is an original Birdland preamp pedal that offers simple and intuitive operation with only 3-band EQ and level. The preamp installed in the signature model of Tadahide Yoshikawa, of Tears, a Japanese acoustic guitar brand produced by Bridland, has been well received, and there have been many requests for it to be made into a pedal, leading to the creation of this unit. The preamp installed in the signature model was tuned solely to suit the Highlander pickup and to suit Tadahide Yoshikawa, so it was retuned when it was made into a pedal. We tuned it through repeated trial and error to ensure that the treble doesn't sound too shrill even when turned up to the maximum, the bass isn't too boomy, and the mids don't sound unnaturally raised. The volume control has a wide range of variation, so it can also be used to correct the output of passive pickups or as a booster.
