The Argo takes inspiration from the now-legendary "COB" fuzz box and pushes it in a slightly more aggressive direction. This Octave Up Fuzz has a tone that's very familiar to all the classic records we know and love, but it has one feature that those vintage units didn't have: a blend control. The Argo's blend knob makes it incredibly versatile and allows for more interesting tones. The Argo excels as a standalone fuzzbox, but its blend function lets you pair it with other gain pedals to achieve sounds not normally achievable from a standalone unit, and the massive amount of output available means you can push any amp exactly how you want. The Argo uses higher gain transistors than the pedal that inspired it. This not only allows for some very intense fuzz when needed, but also widens the unit's flexibility. The Fuzz control simply adjusts the amount of fuzz, while the octave is everywhere. This can be used to create a separate octave-up sound. As with other traditional pedals of this type, the octave is most noticeable above the 9th fret on the neck pickup.
