The RAT, which first appeared in the late 1970s and remains a popular addition to the lineup to this day, boasts consistent popularity. This is the Rat II, popular for its LED lighting and ease of use. This model is from the era when a flat, non-tilted housing was used. This particular model was produced after the battery box was changed to a left-hand opening. While there is some paint peeling on the housing and rust on the metal parts, it is in good condition. The op-amp IC is a Motorola LM308N, and the buffer circuit uses two Motorola 2N5458 FETs. This is an appealing model that combines a comfortable tone with a tight midrange and a clear, well-defined drive that is reminiscent of the Blackface era.
