Combined with reinforced hoops, it produces a more focused sound, making it ideal for live and studio use. -Specialized Shell Configuration (SSC)- The combination of wood grain direction has a big impact on the sound. To create the perfect drum, DW stacks plies cut with different grain directions—vertical, horizontal, and diagonal (X-shell)—to lower the shell's fundamental pitch and maximize resonance. Various ply combinations are available, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your preferred sound. -VLT- The VLT (Vertical Low Timber) shell is a shell in which the vertical plies are arranged in a position where they are less under tension, resulting in a lower pitch than a regular shell and a low-tuned sound with good sustain and attack. In a VLT shell, the outermost and innermost plies are arranged longitudinally rather than horizontally as in the conventional case. The straight grain puts less tension on the shell, allowing it to vibrate more freely, resulting in a lower fundamental pitch. -Woods- DW offers the finest woods selected from around the world for the construction of its drums. -Bearing Edge- Collector's Series shells are precision-cut with 45-degree (toms) and 60-degree (bass and snare) bearing edges, providing tone and sustain on the toms and depth and punch on the bass and snare. -MAG throw-off & 5P (five position) butt plate- The MAG throw-off features a built-in magnet and horizontal tension adjustment for smooth and easy adjustment.
