Introducing a built-in preamplifier that combines low noise and low current consumption. oz design is a Japanese handmade brand that produces microphone preamplifiers, studio rack compressors, DIs, etc. It is a brand that is highly trusted by professional musicians such as Futoshi Sakai and is definitely worth checking out. In professional settings, noise is a major enemy, and no matter how good the sound quality, it cannot be used if there is too much noise. Therefore, we developed this low-noise onboard preamp, "Premium Bass Preamp," utilizing our experience in manufacturing microphone preamps and mixing and mastering equipment. - Achieving both low noise and low current consumption First, regarding low noise, I thought that I could achieve it by performing detailed calculations on resistor noise before selecting the parts. The problem was whether that low noise could be achieved with low current consumption. As long as it was battery-powered, I set a requirement of a quiescent current of around 1 to 1.5 mA, and in fact I was able to create it with 1.4 mA. - Equipped with a Gain Pot. When shipped, it operates as a 1x amplifier, i.e. a buffer amplifier. When the DIP switch on the board is turned on, the gain is enabled and can be adjusted within the range of +3dB to +10dB. - Regarding installation, please install it by placing it after the volume and tone controls of the passive bass and just before the output. This product is a preamplifier that is built into the base unit. It is delivered with the mounting wires attached to the board.
