Shells (Maple/Birch) The shell is a hybrid, combining two plies of maple on the inside and birch on the outside. The warmth and clarity of the maple shell is complemented by the distinct sound image and solid attack of the birch, resulting in a balanced, clear, and punchy sound. Die-Cast Hoops The highly rigid zinc die-cast hoop keeps the contact surface between the head and hoop perpendicular at all times, allowing for sensitive tuning even with critical tuning.
