Maurice, a Japanese manufacturer with a long history, has a wide range of fans, from legendary musicians to amateurs. Despite their meticulous craftsmanship, they boast incredible cost performance and offer a wide lineup that covers everything from folk style to fingerstyle. Morris, a long-established Japanese brand that dominated the folk music boom of the 1970s, also played a key role in the 2000s by developing and releasing a guitar perfectly suited to the new movement known as "fingerstyle guitar," and in spreading and popularizing that style within Japan. Introduced in 2001 as a dedicated fingerstyle guitar, the S series gained popularity for its exceptional playability and outstanding sound, and has undergone numerous improvements since then. It remains a beloved "masterpiece of fingerstyle guitars," enjoyed by everyone from beginners to veterans, and continues to be popular even more than 20 years later. This model is a limited edition version of the "S-101 III," a legendary fingerstyle guitar that is by far the most popular in the S series. The original "S-101 III" is the third-generation model of the S-101, which is particularly popular within the S series for its all-around ease of use. It features a grand auditorium/deep round body, a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood sides and back, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. The unique round back style maintains a well-balanced range while delivering a rich and full bass. Furthermore, thanks to further improvements to the bracing and internal body structure compared to the previous model, the sound has more power while also having increased airiness. The long scale provides exceptionally stable pitch even in drop tuning, and the Gotoh tuners, along with the 44mm wide nut and ultra-thin neck shape that make it easy to play without fingers getting stuck even with intricate fingerings, are just some of the many specifications that are carefully chosen to meet the demands of fingerstyle guitarists. While typically featuring a woody, natural satin finish, this limited edition model boasts a glossy black paint job. It offers a stylish look distinct from the regular model, highlighting the abalone fretboard inlays and rosette. The fact that it's entirely domestically produced, entirely handmade, and made of solid wood, resulting in excellent cost performance, is also very appealing. This is highly recommended as a "step-up" model for those new to the Feingar style!Body Style: Grand Auditorium/Deep Roundback Cutaway: Venetian Body Top: Solid Sitka Spruce Back: Solid Rosewood Sides: Solid Rosewood Top Bracing: Scalloped XX Bracing Back Bracing: X Bracing Neck: Mahogany Fingerboard: Ebony Bridge: Ebony Nut Width: 44mm String length: 652mm Position marker: 12F One-point (gentian) Tuners: GOTOH/SG381-EN01 CK Nut material: Graph Tech/TUSQ Saddle material: Graph Tech/TUSQ Bridge pins: Graph Tech/TUSQ (Paua shell dots) Finish: Gloss Includes hard case
