Apollon is conceived as a sculptural light object, defined by verticality and balance. The lamp lifts light slightly above the ground, allowing it to disperse gently through space rather than focusing it in a single direction. Its presence is architectural yet restrained, offering illumination that feels considered rather than assertive. The shade is 3D-printed from PHA, a fully bio-based material developed through the fermentation of plant-derived sugars and oils. Chosen for its ability to biodegrade without leaving microplastics, the material embeds responsibility directly into the structure of the object. Slender aluminium rods support the form, creating a light framework that contrasts with the solidity of the printed volume. Apollon is assembled without adhesives, using a simple plug-in construction that allows for easy installation, disassembly, and future recycling. This approach reflects a broader commitment to clarity in both making and use. Fabricated as a singular volume, the piece carries the authentic imprints of its creation. The subtle layering is not polished away but preserved, celebrating the material’s raw narrative and the distinct character of the process. Produced individually near Biarritz, France, each Apollon lamp is made to order, allowing careful attention to proportion, material behaviour, and finish. The result is a lighting piece that balances innovation with calm authority: designed to inhabit a space quietly, while remaining distinctly present.
