(Cynara scolymus) Biennial. 85-100 days to maturity. Heirloom Artichoke Seeds - Italy.Purple Romagna Artichokes are a beautiful variety with true royal flair! We love all purple vegetables and these artichokes are no exception - plants can be grown purely for their ornamental and grand beauty, but also for their delicious chokes. Plants must undergo a vernalization period to procure flowers/chokes their first year. For best flavour and texture, pick buds that are fully formed, but before their thistle-like flower begins to open. Purple Romagna Artichoke plants are a show-stopper in any garden! Available direct from Incredible Seeds, a Canadian Heirloom and Heritage Seed Company, offering only the best natural, non-GMO, open pollinated and untreated seeds, located in Mi'kma'ki / Nova Scotia, Canada. Purple Romagna Seeds mature in 85-100 days and are an open pollinated artichoke variety.
